"I love that every class is different, and that she is so kind and caring.”

  • Functional Yoga is an approach to teaching yoga that takes into consideration that no two bodies are built the same. Students are guided to find variations of postures that will be most beneficial their unique body structure, history, conditions, and needs.
  • Yin Yoga is a practice of holding physical postures for an extended amount of time. In my classes, postures may be held for 30 seconds up to five minutes with the intention of putting supported stress on joints and connective tissues.
  • Gentle Flow Yoga includes a combination of strength, balance, and stretch in a moving practice. Creative sequences, with or without support, may include moving from the floor to standing and back to the floor.
  • All classes may include breathing exercises, mindfulness practices, intention setting, and yogic philosophy.
  • Classes are approximately an hour in length - arriving late or leaving early is always ok. There is currently no registration for classes. You can either let me know if you plan to attend, or just show up.
  • Payments can be made by cash, check, Venmo, or Zelle.

Who am I?

I began practicing yoga in the early 2000s, and completed my first yoga teacher training in 2014. Despite a common fear of public speaking, I began teaching yoga in 2015 at a local gym as a way for fellow members to recover after working out. I found yoga to be healing in so many ways, and I love to help others along their journey. I am drawn to working with people who have a variety of experiences and abilities, most especially with people who have been left feeling that yoga is ‘not for them.’

The emphasis of my 500-hour teaching certification with Mark Stephens was on yoga for arthritis and aging bodies. I am particularly interested in teaching people with functional impairments, limitations due to aging, and those recovering from injuries. Yoga can be transformative for everyone, but only if it meets people where they are.
